This section is easy to hike. If you want you can have a meal in the restaurant before the start.
Start with a look into the chapel, which is situated on the east side of the motorway.
The track follows a very old country road for about 3 km, at the end of which the remains of a executional ground can be seen (observe the way marks!).
After this you get to enjoy the open landscape and are about to see some old traditional farms of Sörmland just before you enter on the trails´ first part through hilly forest, at which from an elevated view point one can look over open field and on the lake Sillen and its´ drain into the Trosa river. From the trail it is about 200 metres down to Lake Sillen and a place for bathing. Soon you are about to see a strong grown, old pine tree (guess its age). After this the trail crosses the former E4 motorway and then over Trosa river to follow it through the Vagnhärad community. At the riverside old grounds and remains of a river dam can be seen which was providing electricity to Nygård. With a little bit of luck one can spot a heron.
The trail continues to follow the river and reaches a river dam with ruins of a water mill inclusive a salmon leap. The trail then passes under the railway tracks through a passage which was built in 1997 after a well known earth slide incident, that took eight houses down into the river. You then will walk out of the Vagnhärad community and into a forested part, coming up to a country road which passes through some farmyards. Just before the end of this part of the trail you can quench your thirst at a very old water spring. The trail sign will give you directions to continue to either Trosa or Gisekvarn.
Toilet available at the river promenade in Vagnhärad. Car park available at Sillekrog and in Vagnhärad.
